One of the most innovative artists of the 20th century, Harry Bertoia was often inspired by nature and music, and in the early 1960s, he embarked on a sonic journey to join the two disciplines. Throughout the decade, Bertoia created over a hundred Sonambient sculptures that produced various tones depending on the length and mass of the copper rods. In the upcoming May 18, 2014 Modern Art & Design Auction, we are offering one of these rare Sonambient masterpieces.
