Assemblage art hasn’t lost any steam over the years and Los Angeles Modern Auctions is thrilled to include a group of pieces by four important American artists who produced work in the assemblage idiom: Joseph Cornell, Betye Saar, Chris Ferebee, and Louise Nevelson in the February 25, 2018 Modern Art & Design Auction.

LAMA is pleased to announce that a sculpture by Louise Nevelson will go to auction on May 21, 2017 in the Modern Art & Design Auction. The strong and powerful form of ‘Untitled’ (c. 1945) is typical of Nevelson’s work from the early 1940s. These works have been interpreted as a Cubist re-imagining of the human body and, viewed in profile, ‘Untitled’ bears more than a passing resemblance to an abstracted figure, crouched in wait.
