Ralph Goings (1928-), an American Photo-Realist, is best known for his mechanic-like paintings of 35mm slides of familiar everyday scenes: hamburger stands, pick-up trucks, and diners. Goings process wielded him to take a “couple of hundred” slides of a scene and then project it onto a canvas, which he would meticulously reproduce through pencil drawings and paint.
