Los Angeles Modern Auctions (LAMA)

Assume vivid astro focus (A.V.A.F.) was formed as a collective in New York in 2001 by artists Eli Sudbrack and Christophe Hamaide-Pierson. Challenging conventional ideas of authorship, the collective works across a range of disciplines and often collaborates with designers, musicians, and dancers in creating their multivalent works, which take free speech, civil rights, and gender expression and expansiveness as core concerns. The collective’s work has been shown at the New Museum, Oslo’s National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, the Museum of Modern Art New York, Museo Reina Sofia, Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, among others.
