The Watercolour Collection, via nendo

The present work is a prototype for nendo’s 18-piece Watercolour Collection, for which the studio took inspiration from the qualities of watercolor on paper. To make the metal furnishings resemble paper, as the studio puts it, “the objects are designed to look as though they were cut and folded by hand.” The surfaces were sanded repeatedly and a mixture of two paint colors was applied by hand to create the soft effect of where pigment, water, and paper fiber meet.
