Los Angeles Modern Auctions (LAMA)

The Moons series is an ongoing body of work that began in 2014 as a manifestation of the "Big Crunch," a theory that the universe could stop expanding and bounce back, crunching in a return to what we know as the "Big Bang." In this view, all stars and planetary bodies could begin to look eclipsed. Then, the idea shifted into overlapping states of consciousness where individuality was only seen in the edges. The moons became mandalas, places to rest one's eyes in meditation where "seeing through" rather than "looking at" could be accomplished. Most recently, these moons have again shifted and become "portraits." Portraits of the personal and individual energies who orbit us, whether on this earth or not.
