When I was younger ... There was a lot of ‘this is fine art’ or ‘this is not fine art’; ‘this is commercial’, ‘this is high art’. In my mind I thought, art's purpose is to communicate and reach people. Whichever outlet that's being done through is the right one.

Serving as Global Head of Electronic Music for the renowned agency WME from 2008 to 2020, Joel Zimmerman (who shares his name with the EDM artist better known as deadmau5) was responsible for a roster of talent that included EDM superstars deadmau5, Steve Aoki, Calvin Harris, Kygo, and more. A prolific collector of KAWS, Zimmerman amassed many rare and limited edition works coveted by fans the world over. 

If there was a movie about bidding wars in EDM, I’d probably be Darth Vader.
