Chinese-American artist Jade Fon moved from San Jose to study at the Arizona State Teacher's College of Flagstaff, Arizona and later to the Art Student's League of Los Angeles, California. Fon was also a singer, performing at clubs in the San Francisco area such as the Lion's Den. He received awards and mentions for his watercolors by the Pomona Fair, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Museum of Northern Arizona.
