Designed 1939 for the "Glass Center Pavilion" at the New York World's Fair
Textured glass and metal
Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company
29" x 22" x 18"
This chair was originally Designed for the Worlds Fair and later sold at J.W. Robinson Co. Scholars have attributed this to Louis Dierra who was a designer at the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company.
According to the manufacturer the original process of producing plate glass left a dimpled surface which had to be ground and polished to create a transparent Sheet:. This chair appears to be of the un-ground variety.
