Silver Head, a portrait of Archipenko's wife Frances, is a fine example of the Artist's work in oil. The painting was exhibited in the Ukrainian House at the Chicago World's Fair of 1933, and is listed in the catalog of his works for the Fair. Purchased at the Fair directly from the artist, the painting has remained in the Alschuler collection since that time. Original silver painted frame numbered "29" from the 1933 exhibition. Signed 'Archipenko' lower left.
