On September 23, 2001, Los Angeles Modern Auctions and Butterfields collaborated on 644 lots of 20th century decorative arts, prints, drawings, vintage posters, and modern design. The auction included property from the collection of Earl Kingston Lindley of Pasadena and a Northern California estate.

Highlights from the 20th Century Prints, Drawings & Vintage Posters section included drawings by the French artist Louis Icart, prints and sculptures by the Russian-born French artist Erté, and the lithograph May Belfort by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.

The Modern Design section included coffee and dining tables from George Nakashima, Charles and Ray Eames “LAR” chairs, an Eero Saarinen “Womb” settee, a Poul Vother “Corona” Chair (cover lot), and three Gaetano Pesce doors that were custom designed for the New York offices of Chiat/Day in 1991.
