The Mays and the LeRoys were passionate supporters of Haines, and this auction presents a rare opportunity to acquire custom Haines furnishings that come with both May and LeRoy pedigree. This impressive collection of Haines designs includes lounge chairs, dining tables, table lamps, side tables, stools, and bedroom furnishings, all of which have never been offered on the market. The intersection of these early champions of Haines’ interiors is shown through the details of the Rita Roedling commission: a Tang Style Horse Lamp, which incorporates a ceramic from Mervyn & Kitty LeRoy’s William Haines and Samuel Marx interior from an earlier period, as well as two Ledge Back “Seniah” chairs, one of his most celebrated and enduring creations
