Auction Details

LAMA welcomed 2020 with its first auction of the new year, held on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 12pm, Pacific. Further, after the great success of our first-ever Online Only Auction this past October, we also offered a fresh selection of works for online bidding through our exclusive app.

Our February 16, 2020 auction featured celebrated contemporary and Modern art and design, with highlights including works from Deborah Butterfield, Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Henry Moore, George Nakashima, and Frederick Hammersley.

In keeping with LAMA’s specialized focus on the Los Angeles-driven market, we were thrilled to offer an historical grouping of works by Raymond Pettibon. These 23 works-on-paper were featured in the era-defining Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles exhibition “Helter Skelter: L.A. Art in the 1990s” — the first MOCA show to be curated by Paul Schimmel.

Pettibon’s explosive cultural ascent speaks volumes to just how far Los Angeles has come as an art epicenter in its own right. LAMA is proud to continue its tradition of championing this endlessly inventive region with property from LA-based artists including Peter Alexander, Charles Arnoldi, Joe Goode, Helen Lundeberg, Billy Al Bengston, Hilda D. Levy, Jan de Swart, Sam Maloof, Ed Ruscha, and Betye Saar, among many others.
